Traveltech startup Holidu takes over Ferienwohnungen.de

The holiday home broker Holidu is acquiring Ferienwohnungen.de, one of Germany's leading holiday accommodation booking portals, founded in 1998. The Munich-based travel tech company is thus also expanding its range of accommodations.

Before the acquisition, the website offered Ferienwohnungen.de According to its own information, it offers around 7,000 holiday apartments and holiday homes. However, most of the offers were only bookable on request. With the takeover of Ferienwohnungen.de by Holidu Hosts can now benefit from direct online booking, the software solution of the Munich startup and a local personal service including a professional photo shoot.

“Simplification of many processes”

For guests, the integration with Holidu means an expanded range of accommodations, as the complete Holidu inventory can now be searched and booked on the website www.ferienwohnungen.de.

"With this cooperation, we are taking hosts by the hand and accompanying them on their journey to online booking. We are offering hosts an even better technological solution and a simplification of many processes, from optimized calendar planning to efficient payment processing,"

explained Johannes Siebers, CEO and co-founder of Holidu.

“Growth drivers on the host and guest side”

Holidu relies not only on innovative technologies but also on personal relationships with landlords. Thomas Frost, managing owner of Ferienwohnungen.de, says:

"We are very happy to have found a partner that offers our guests and hosts the best technology on the market. Together with the Holidu team, we will further expand the portal's reach. We are particularly looking forward to this."

Holidu operates a vacation rental booking portal of the same name, which, according to the company, has more than 100 million users annually. The company also offers a software and service solution for vacation rental owners that helps them generate more bookings with less effort.

“Such strategic acquisitions are a strong growth driver for us on the host and guest side, giving us a growth boost in directly managed accommodations,”

reports Johannes Siebers.
