3.5 million euros for logistics software startup Box ID

Munich-based logistics software provider Box ID has raised €3.5 million in a financing round. The round is led by KPN Ventures and supported by former seed investors High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bayern Kapital, and Wille Finance, as well as business angels from the Baystartup network. The fresh investment will be used for further product development and business expansion.

The cloud-based solution from Box ID aims to enable customers to monitor and manage their inbound and outbound shipments and ensure an optimized flow of their goods and RTP fleets across any number of their own and third-party locations, as well as in transit. The software enables the intelligent merging of IoT sensor data with data sets from enterprise software such as ERP and TMS. The goal of the application is to prevent losses, ensure availability, and optimize the use of the RTP fleet and other mobile logistics assets. Wolfgang Vogl, co-founder and CEO of Box ID, explains:

"We eliminate waste for our customers across the entire supply chain by automatically matching data streams with target processes in real time. Reducing losses, stockouts, and misrouted items not only optimizes availability but also saves costs and improves the supply chain's environmental footprint. Today's logistics asset tracking systems provide little or no real-time process context. They generate reports so that what went wrong can be analyzed at a later date. Our software continuously monitors process execution, detecting and preventing errors before they occur."

With the newly raised capital of €3.5 million, the Munich-based startup intends to further develop its SaaS platform. The round is led by KPN Ventures, in addition, existing investors such as HTGF, Bayern Kapital, Wille Finance and other business angels are also participating.

Promising market position & strong sales growth

Carolien Nijhuis, Executive Vice President KPN IoT & Dataservices, commented on the current financing round:

"We are committed to partnering with sustainable technology startups with a strong vision. With its clear portfolio philosophy and focus on selected vertical segments in industrial logistics, Box ID is well positioned to deliver value to KPN's national and international corporate customers. Box ID has a strong team, a promising market position, and positive customer feedback."

And Christian Ziach, Principal of the HTGF, adds:

"Box ID has evolved from a provider of a cost-effective, end-to-end supply chain asset tracking solution to a hardware-agnostic software company pursuing the vision of complete logistics process automation. The strong revenue growth and the recent financing round demonstrate that the company is on the right track."
