Remote-controlled trucks: Fernride secures 28.7 million euros. Fernride has its Series A round with 28.7 million euros (31 million dollars) The Munich-based startup is developing a human-assisted autonomous control system for trucks. Founded in 2019, the company's customers include Volkswagen, DB Schenker, BSH, and HHLA. With its solution, the startup aims to address the shortage of truck drivers, rising CO2 emissions, and tight profit margins in the logistics industry. According to the company, this is the first solution of its kind to be deployed in operational use by a customer.
