Bayern Kapital's current co-managing director, Georg Ried, will retire at the end of April. Möreke will join forces with the existing co-managing director Monika Steger steer the fortunes of the venture capital company of the Free State of Bavaria.

New Bayern Capital boss Möreke previously worked for Deutsche Bahn and VW
Lars Möreke has spent the past few years building up DB Digital Ventures, the venture capital arm of Deutsche Bahn. Prior to that, he worked for Volkswagen Financial Services for six years. At the beginning of his career, he held various positions at Here and within the Volkswagen Group, working on topics related to intelligent and connected mobility.
Bayern Kapital manages investment funds with a volume of approximately €700 million. Since its founding in 1995, Bayern Kapital has invested €400 million in over 300 technology-oriented Bavarian startups. The VC firm's previous and current investments include Proglove, Fazua, Simscale, Scompler, Egym, Parcellab, Cobrainer, Quantum Systems, Casavi, Theva, Riskmethods, Tubules, Catalym, Immunic and Sirion.
