On November 18, 2022, Toposens filed for insolvency proceedings with the Munich District Court. Attorney Stefan Strüwind of Bendel Insolvency Administration was appointed as provisional insolvency administrator.
The Munich-based startup develops sensor systems and software that enable autonomous technologies to perceive and interact with their environment in three dimensions. The sensors operate on the basis of ultrasonic waves, which are transmitted and received in a similar way to a bat. According to the insolvency administrator, the product is ready for series production and is already being delivered to major customers in the warehousing industry.

There is still hope for the startup. The insolvency administrator reports that new investors are being sought for the company. Meanwhile, business operations will continue "in full."
Toposens was founded in 2015 by Tobias Bahnemann, Alexander Rudoy and Rinaldo Persichini. According to our Insights The company has so far raised up to 4.5 million euros in capital. Toposens says it sells its products to over 300 customers in more than 20 countries.
