For the Fast 50, Deloitte considered revenue growth from 2018 to 2021. To be included on the list, companies must have achieved at least €1 million in revenue in the 2021 fiscal year. Software dominates Fast 50
As in previous years, a majority of the Fast 50 award winners come from software development, this year's 48 percent. Following at some distance are companies involved in digital content (14 percent) and energy technology (12 percent).
"We've been honoring innovative and fast-growing companies for 20 years now, and every year I'm amazed at how much creativity exists in Germany. The award winners demonstrate how to successfully embrace current trends and transform them into viable business models,"
says Oliver Salzmann, Managing Director of Deloitte AI GmbH.
"At the moment, the topics that most impact the economy and society as a whole are dominating: artificial intelligence, resilience, and sustainability. We see this especially in the winners who are developing clean or green tech offerings."
