Knowron receives 1.8 million euros in seed financing

The AI startup Knowron is developing a digital assistant for service technicians. With the recently completed seed funding, the Munich-based company secured €1.8 million for the further development of its solution. The three founders are also receiving support from Silicon Valley.

With its digital assistant, Knowron wants Helping service techniciansA Q&A search function based on natural language processing (NLP) is designed to help users quickly find the right information instead of having to search for it themselves from manuals and service reports. The solution also provides direct access to existing documents and offers additional functions such as systematic troubleshooting and tutorials. This should increase the first-time fix rate and efficiency of service technicians, as well as facilitate the training of new technicians. In this way, the Munich-based company aims to help counteract the shortage of skilled workers among mechanical and plant engineering companies.

Knowron and Silicon Valley

The three Knowron founders, Fabian Pelzl, Arturo Buitrago Méndez, and Ali Kareem Raja, met at Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM). They founded their startup in 2020, and in spring 2021, Knowron became part of the B2B accelerator. Alchemist in Silicon Valley. Renowned machine manufacturers such as Voith, the energy supplier and grid operator EON, and ASMPT, a global provider of hardware and software solutions for semiconductor and electronics manufacturers, are already among the startup's customers.

ASMPT's venture capital arm is now also a strategic partner in Knowron's seed investment round. The Munich-based company raised a total of €1.8 million. Other investors include the Alchemist Accelerator, CDTM, and business angels from industry.
