More money is currently being spent on IT security in Germany than ever before. Spending on hardware, software, and services in the IT security sector will amount to approximately €7.8 billion in 2022, an increase of 13 percent compared to the previous year.

Bitkom-Main Board Udo Littke is sure:
"Cyberattacks can threaten the existence of companies in all industries. IT security must be a top management priority and be provided with appropriate human and financial resources."
According to Bitkom, spending on IT security will continue to rise by around 10 percent each year in the coming years. A further increase of 10 percent to €8.5 billion is expected for 2023. The German market is expected to grow to €9.4 billion in 2024 and exceed the €10 billion mark for the first time in 2025, reaching €10.3 billion.
IT security services account for the largest share of total spending, accounting for approximately 46 percent of the total market in 2022 at €3.6 billion (up 14 percent). Spending on security software will increase by 12 percent to €3.2 billion this year, accounting for 41 percent of total spending. A further €1.0 billion will be spent on IT security hardware (up 14 percent).
