For the seventh time, the Contentshift Accelerator is searching for innovative business models that will advance the book and content industry. Interested startups can apply until May 1st.

For the content shift Accelerator A suitable idea doesn't necessarily have to originate in the book and content industry, but it should be useful. This could be, for example, new technologies for optimizing metadata or publishing processes, tools for content creation, or similarly applicable products.

10,000 euros for 'Content Startup of the Year'

The Börsenverein Group's internationally oriented funding program brings together founders, experts, and investors, enabling startups to enter the industry. Participating startups can further develop their business models in workshops and coaching sessions and attract decision-makers as investors. The program culminates with the selection of the 'Content Startup of the Year,' which receives €10,000 in funding.

The advisory experts on the jury this year are: Detlef Büttner and Leif Göritz (Lehmanns Media/Thalia Bookstore), Olaf Carstens (Cornelsen Verlag), Stephan Dietrich (Junfermann Verlag), Nina Hugendubel and Per Dalheimer (Hugendubel Bookstore), Stefanie Penck (TeNeues Verlag), Wolfgang Pichler (MANZ Publishing and Bookstore), Ronald Schild (MVB), Peter Kraus vom Cleff (Börsenverein) and Deepa Gautam-Nigge (SAP Next-Gen Innovation Network) as an external industry partner of the program. Nina Hugendubel, managing partner at the Hugendubel bookstore, says:

"We enjoy working with startups and look closely at who is working on the topics relevant to us – and what points of contact there are. The exchange is a lot of fun and gives us great new inspiration."

Program flow

Five start-ups will be selected for the accelerator program from all applications received. The application period ends on 1 May 2022All selected founders will receive comprehensive coaching and consulting from experts for several months starting July 1st. The climax will be the co-creation workshop for startups and jury members in early September. The accelerator will conclude at the Frankfurt Book Fair, where all participants will pitch their developed business ideas. During this event, the jury will select the "Content Startup of the Year" and award the prize money.
