"The Franco-German axis is a key to building European champions. La French Tech Munich was launched in April 2021 to help entrepreneurs, investors, and companies scale between these two countries: By fostering the innovation and technology ecosystem, we are building bridges across the Rhine,"
explained Sabine Flechet, Vice President of La French Tech Munich. And further:
"Bits & Pretzels was the natural partner to foster this relationship and help French and German startups conquer Europe and thus rise to the level of the American and Asian champions."
Bits & Pretzels and President Macron's plans
The collaboration with Bits & Pretzels also aims to create opportunities to unite French tech companies already active in Bavaria. It also aims to further foster the Bavarian startup ecosystem's interest in tech-savvy players and partners in France. French scaleups such as Qonto, Payfit, Lifen, October, Lengow, and Lemonway have already expressed interest in exhibiting in the French Corner and participating in several core phases of Bits & Pretzels.
This supports La French Tech Munich This is also the mission of Scale-Up Europe – an initiative launched by French President Emmanuel Macron in December 2020. It has set ambitious goals: by 2025, one in four unicorns worldwide should be a European startup. And by 2030, at least ten European tech companies should reach a valuation of €100 billion or more. To achieve this, the initiative aims to create financing opportunities for the most innovative startups and digital players by mobilizing institutional investors.
