Remberg raises €11 million in Series A

The Munich-based 'Industry 4.0' startup Remberg has raised €11 million in its Series A funding round. Earlybird is leading the financing round, along with business angels such as the founders of Celonis, Personio, Uipath, Konux, and others.

Remberg has with his so-called “Extended” or “Anything Relationship Management” (XRM) A further development of the "Customer Relationship Management" approach for managing customer relationships has been developed – but for the Internet of Things (IoT). With the Remberg solution, tailored to the industry, not only customers and contacts but also machines, systems, equipment, buildings, and much more can be managed centrally in one place.

To do this, the software extracts all relevant master data about equipment and assets from existing IT systems such as ERP or CRM, giving companies an overview of their own "things" in the cloud, initially without an IoT connection. The customer can then digitize related processes in Remberg, initially in service and later also in sales and marketing.

"The first step is to move away from Excel and paper to a digital solution in the cloud. As long as field staff, such as service technicians in medium-sized companies, still fill out reports on paper and customer service employees don't have a central ticketing system, we don't need to come up with predictive maintenance and IoT,"

so David Hahn, CEO of Remberg. He and his co-founders Julian Madrzak, Hagen Schmidtchen, and Cecil Wöbker met at the Center for Digital Technology & Management (CDTM). The €11 million investment will primarily be used to further expand the sales and development areas.

Einhorn founders believe in Remberg

In the last seed financing round of €2 million in 2019, the founders of Personio and Forto, along with Speedinvest and Fly Ventures, also invested. New investors include Celonis founder Bastian Nominacher, founders and executives of Uipath, Aiven, Instana, and Konux. The round is led by Earlybird.

Hanno Renner, CEO Personio and investor at Remberg, explains:

"We quickly saw parallels between Remberg and Personio. Before we could start automating HR, we first had to get rid of Excel, for example, for vacation time. For Remberg to fully exploit the potential of IoT in SMEs, processes, for example, in service, must first be moved away from paper. Especially in small and medium-sized businesses, the basics are often lacking, and Remberg has understood this precisely. The potential for digitalization in SMEs is enormous."

"Remberg is completely rethinking customer-centric processes—starting with products and things, not parties such as customers. This offers entirely new possibilities for mapping complex relationships across industries, especially with regard to the upcoming widespread IoT connectivity. We believe that Remberg will make the decisive difference here and offer the right solution to pave the way for companies into the digital future."

says Hendrik Brandis, partner and founder of Early bird.
