"For the third time, after 2017 and 2018, Nanotemper Technologies GmbH has taken first place in its size category. This achievement can be described as outstanding. It underscores the deep roots of innovation within the company. The Munich-based company develops, produces, and distributes biophysical laboratory measuring instruments for basic research and drug development. The company's technology allows the analysis of the binding of molecules to the target as well as the 'folding' of molecular structures at far lower costs, with better measurement quality, and in less time than previous methods. This groundbreaking technology is comprehensively protected by international patents."

Nanotemper founders “are prime examples of ‘sciencepreneurs’”

The company was founded in 2008 by fellow students Philipp Baaske and Stefan Duhr as a spin-off from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. The jury's statement continues:

"The two founders are prime examples of sciencepreneurs who successfully translate their scientific achievements into marketable solutions. The two founders devote themselves almost exclusively to the innovativeness of their company and, for example, encourage the team to undertake radical projects using "moonshot thinking." The message: with courage and determination, even a seemingly unattainable goal can be achieved. Thanks to this attitude, the company has repeatedly succeeded in developing innovations that were considered technically unfeasible until their implementation."

Nanotemper is characterized by an open, positive, and performance-oriented working environment. It employs a good mix of different measures that are optimally tailored to its own requirements.
