The Innovation Wall at the Munich Urban Colab was created by UnternehmerTUM in collaboration with Munich Startup, the City of Munich, and the Digital Hub Mobility. The Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy funded the project. Eight screens on the interactive wall display content on Munich's startup ecosystem from the fields of urban living, mobility, smart data, the built environment, and health & food. In the future, other urban projects related to UnternehmerTUM will also be presented. Munich Startup continuously updates the publicly accessible wall in the foyer of the innovation center with current content.
Nicola Borgmann of the Architekturgalerie München designed the Innovation Wall. The wooden structure was manufactured by the Makerspace at Colab. The technical components were provided by Langer IT Solutions GmbH.
Innovation Wall showcases Munich Urban Colab’s smart city focus
The Munich Urban Colab is an initiative of UnternehmerTUM and the state capital of Munich, bringing together startups, established companies, science, creatives, artists, and the city administration under one roof. Over 11,000 square meters of office space, co-working spaces, event and seminar rooms, and the high-tech prototype workshop Makerspace are available.
The Colab's primary focus is on sustainable solutions for a livable city of the future. The building's users will benefit from UnternehmerTUM's many years of experience in developing startups. The building also aims to promote the exchange of startups with experts from technology and business, venture capital firms, and citizens.
The Innovation Wall, with its focus on smart city solutions, represents the thematic focus of the Munich Urban Colab. The installation also highlights the networking of partners in Munich's innovation and startup network.
