Schwabinger Hofladen wins Munich Founders' Prize 2021

The 'Schwabinger Hofladen' has secured the Munich Founders' Prize 2021. Since May 2021, the founders have been selling regional organic food on four floors in Hohenzollernstraße.

With their concept, the young entrepreneurs have not only impressed their customers, but now also the people of Munich in the Stadtsparkasse München Founders' Award. The Schwabinger Hofladen prevailed over the other finalists by a clear margin in an online vote. Spyra, Wahtari, GentleMonkeys and Pullup & Dip and secured the award.

"We are very proud to have won the Munich Founders' Prize. Especially because the award is voted for by the people of Munich, and we are grateful that our concept has been so well received in the city,"

said the two farm shop founders Finn Röder and Benjamin Maunz.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us and supported us in making regional food and delicacies cool and modern.”

Schwabinger Hofladen “corresponds to the spirit of the times and is therefore particularly sustainable”

The Stadtsparkasse München has been awarding the Munich Founders' Prize since 1997. Thirty-six companies have now received the award. For the second time, Munich residents voted online for their favorite. A jury of experts had previously selected the five finalists from ten companies as part of an application process. Sparkasse Board of Directors Stefan Hattenkofer says:

"With the Munich Founders' Prize, the Stadtsparkasse recognizes pioneering ideas and the courage to become self-employed. Finn Röder and Benjamin Maunz have impressively demonstrated both in recent months – amidst the challenges of the pandemic. With their concept of a regional organic farm shop, they are close to their customers and promote sustainability and regional trade. Values that are also very important to us as Stadtsparkasse. The effort to offer customers high-quality food in an attractive environment with clear labeling of origin is in keeping with the spirit of the times and is therefore particularly sustainable."
