Interview with Electrochaea: Energy storage is a key challenge in the use of renewable energies: electricity and heat must be available during peak times, even when the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing. Electrochaea has developed a technology to store electricity in the form of gas. The Munich-based company uses microorganisms called archaea to do this.
