As a central interface to the Bavaria-wide startup scene and with extensive entrepreneurial expertise, the Munich Business Plan Competition from Baystartup has been supporting innovative startup teams in their business development for 25 years. Participants gain business planning knowledge in accompanying workshops. At the same time, they build a close network of like-minded individuals. Complemented by detailed feedback from a jury of experts after each of the three competition phases, they prepare specifically for market entry.
"By participating in the Munich Business Plan Competition, startups lay the foundation for a rapid, successful market entry and initial sales – factors that are essential, especially for convincing investors. Successful companies such as Kumovis, Fazua, Konux, Testbirds, Mynaric, and Voxeljet demonstrate this."
says Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director of Baystartup.
How the business plan competition works
The Munich Business Plan Competition runs in three consecutive phases from now until summer 2022. Participants are therefore not required to submit a complete business plan for the first submission in January. Instead, they are required to submit a roughly seven-page business plan that primarily focuses on the business idea and customer benefits of the solution or product. To participate, founding teams register online and submit their documents by January 18, 2022. The second phase begins on March 29, 2022, and Phase 3 on May 31, 2022. The official competition kickoff will take place on November 16 with a Bavaria-wide Startup Demo Night.
To prepare, participants will learn practical business planning fundamentals in free workshops. Baystartup coaches will teach, among other things, how startups can succinctly articulate the customer benefits of their solutions and position their business ideas in the market.
