IAA Mobility draws a positive conclusion

Yesterday, the IAA Mobility concluded after a week. The former auto show attracted 400,000 people to its Munich relaunch as a mobility platform. Organizers are pleased.

For the first time, the IAA Mobility took place in Munich last week. 400,000 participants from 95 countries visited the Exhibitions at the Munich Trade Fair Centre and the Open Spaces in the city centre. 744 exhibitors and 936 speakers from 32 countries were represented.

“We took a bold step and were rewarded by the visitors,”

says Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), together with Messe München, organiser of the mobility trade fair.

"400,000 participants in just six days is a clear vote with their feet. Visitors were extremely interested and enthusiastic about what the IAA Mobility has to offer. The IAA Mobility is now the largest mobility event in the world."

IAA Mobility: “Munich and Bavaria are now the new home of the world’s largest mobility event”

Klaus Dittrich, Chairman of the Management Board of Messe München, sees the IAA a “strong signal to the world” that international trade fair events are possible again in Germany:

"We can hold such large events safely; the safety and hygiene concept worked excellently. The exhibitors and visitors adhered to the rules and showed a great deal of understanding."

Müller praised the city of Munich as a "great host" for the mobility trade fair. The IAA will henceforth be an important economic factor in Munich. The stands were filled to capacity. In some locations, access had to be temporarily restricted due to overcrowding. The VDA President said:

"We experienced a peaceful celebration of mobility in Munich. Munich and Bavaria are now the new home of the world's largest mobility event."

The next IAA Mobility will take place in Munich from September 5 to 10, 2023.
