Linkfive: Central platform for app marketing

Anyone who distributes multiple apps in different stores has a lot of work to do to get them to customers. Special offers, marketing campaigns, and data analysis must be carried out manually in each app store. Linkfive offers a central platform for managing and supporting various app stores. Co-founder Alexander Thiele answers our 7 questions in an interview.

Munich Startup: Who are you and what do you do? Please introduce yourselves briefly..

Linkfive: Linkfive is a subscription management platform for companies that want to dynamically create, manage, improve, and test their subscriptions, for example, to the Apple App Store. Malte and I had the idea for Linkfive many years ago, and it never left us until we found the right time to start it at the beginning of this year. Malte and I met at Doodle in Berlin and have become good friends ever since.

Alexander Thiele (33) is a co-founder in the tech sector; his heart has always been in software and apps. Alex was previously CTO at Prosperity in Berlin and a senior engineer at Doodle, where he has already brought several apps to the stores. Malte Schiebelmann (38) is a co-founder in the product area and has always had a passion for great products. Malte was CPO at Doodle and Head of Product at Zattoo and is involved in the development of several widely used products. We have also had new reinforcements on board for a few months now and welcome Nini and Stefan to our team. Nini is a software and app developer in the B2C sector, and Stefan is a product manager and has previously worked in various B2B companies.

“We feel more than prepared to solve the problem completely.”

Munich Startup: What problem does your startup solve?

Linkfive: Modern companies are agile and constantly growing, and so too are the subscription products they offer. How can an app, in conjunction with a marketing campaign in Spain, offer an offer for €4.99 instead of €9.99 – spontaneously from one day to the next? How can a company quickly change its subscription offer and remove or add a new one? Many product managers would also like to conduct A/B testing, but the technical challenge is usually too complex and resource-intensive. Linkfive was developed to quickly and easily manage subscriptions and to create or change your subscription offer, conduct A/B testing, and even run marketing campaigns within minutes – all without changing a single line of code. A benefit for developers and product managers alike.

Munich Startup: But that's been around for a long time!

Linkfive: Of course, every company can develop its own system, but each company will also need additional resources. We've spoken with many companies, and they all face the same problems, which are only partially solved or not solved at all. Our competitors are also still in their infancy and haven't been able to solve our problems satisfactorily. So far, only Silicon Valley companies have dared to tackle the problem. European companies seem to still shy away from the topic. However, we feel more than equipped to not only address the issue, but to solve it completely!

Munich Startup: What have been your three biggest challenges so far?

Linkfive: The first big challenge was our platform itself. We develop our software entirely in-house and have already written over 30,000 lines of code. We're already in the testing phase, and our production system is currently being intensively tested with several apps. The next big challenge will be marketing and, of course, finding more strong talent for our growing startup!

Munich Startup: How do you rate Munich as a startup location?

Linkfive: Munich is an attractive city with a high quality of life, which attracts talent from all over the world. The Technische Universität München and Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich are just around the corner and house many talented individuals we urgently need now and in the future. Furthermore, Munich's location makes it easily accessible from all over Europe.

Munich Startup: Hidden champion or shooting star?

Linkfive: I would say the hidden champion among app users and the future shooting star among companies.
