fDi ranking: Munich among Europe's top business locations

The Financial Times subsidiary fDi Intelligence examined 481 European cities and regions for their potential for foreign direct investment. Munich ranks among the top five.

Munich shines – at least for foreign investors, the Bavarian capital is one of the top addresses. Behind London, Paris, Dublin and Frankfurt, Munich ranks fifth among the 481 cities and regions surveyed in the fDi Rankings “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2016/17” (Registration required).

Within the category of “large European cities,” the Isar metropolis ranks second, particularly in terms of economic potential (2nd place), the location factors of human capital and quality of life (2nd place), “business friendliness” (4th place), and the FDI strategy (3rd place).

A series According to previous studies, Munich has already best location conditions. Furthermore, no other city is home to more DAX companies. The business consultancy Deloitte sees Munich as Germany's most promising digital location.
