Funding program “Start Your Digital Future” is looking for coaches

With the new program "Start Your Digital Future – Your Digital Ideas Lab," the German Business Foundation (sdw) aims to specifically promote the strengthening of digital skills among adolescents and young adults. Coaches from the digital economy are still being sought for the program.

As part of the "Start Your Digital Future – Your Digital Ideas Lab" funding program, young people – schoolchildren, apprentices, and young students between the ages of 16 and 19 – work together on digital projects. They create a project plan, define their own goals, and use digital media for planning, implementation, and documentation. They are accompanied and supported by two coaches from the digital industry.

From consumers to active co-creators

And these are precisely the coaches we're still looking for. The sdw is looking for young professionals from the digital economy who are interested and have the time to volunteer to accompany young people for six months and support them in their project work. From June to December 2021, coaches in teams of two will supervise a project group of approximately five young people each in face-to-face and online meetings and will be available as contact persons for any questions. The coaches also help structure work processes. They support the young people in developing their own digital and practical skills and are intended to empower them to transform from consumers into active contributors to (digital) society.

Also wanted: Expert impulses

If you'd like to get involved but can't afford the time commitment of a coach, the sdw is also looking for expert input for "Start Your Digital Future," i.e. experts who can present or provide expert input on topics such as app building, coding, robotics, agile project management, new work, design thinking, and futurology in (digital) workshops. Register directly with [company name] by May 16th. digital@sdw.org.
