IGP funding program for social impact and education

The application deadline for the Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneering Solutions (IGP) is February 2nd.

The IGP funding program gives startups the opportunity to submit project ideas for the areas Education and access to information. This time, the focus is on innovative solutions that have a social impact and strengthen the common good.

With the IGP funding program, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) supports ideas that create or improve educational opportunities. Solutions that contribute to new or easier access to information are also sought. Possible options include new educational or information apps and platforms. Ideas related to innovative museum concepts, digital maps, training concepts, educational gamification approaches, and much more can also be submitted. It is important that the idea has novelty value. An economically sustainable solution, i.e., a business model with corresponding revenue potential, is also essential.

How startups can participate in the IGP funding program

In addition to startups, freelancers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-profit organizations, and research institutions (as cooperation partners) are eligible to participate. Project ideas must be submitted to the IGP funding program in the form of an outline. Sectors outside the education and information access sectors are also welcome, provided they develop the innovations addressed in the call for proposals.

Helpful hint: There will be a webinar with live chat on January 29th to clarify any final questions before applying.
