Ajuma and Veloine win ISPO Brandnew Award

Ajuma and Veloine are among the ten winners of this year's ISPO Brandnew Award. The two Munich-based companies will compete in a pitch competition at the virtual ISPO 2021.

For 20 years, ISPO Brandnew has been honoring the most exciting newcomers in the sports industry. This year, two Munich-based companies, Ajuma and Veloine, are among the ten winners. As part of the all-virtual ISPO Munich 2021, the ten winners will compete in a digital live pitch for the title of "Overall Winner" in front of an online audience on February 1.

Ajuma and Veloine: A wearable against sunburn and cycling clothing for pregnant women

Ajuma wants to reduce the risk of sunburn for children and outdoor athletes with a smart gadget. Wearable can be worn as a bracelet or attached to clothing, measures the solar radiation and sends a timely warning to the smartphone.

Veloine has developed cycling clothing for pregnant women. The 'Veloine Pregnancy Cycling Kit' is designed to help pregnant cyclists continue their sport for as long as possible. The pieces grow with them; the jersey, for example, has a special fabric pleat that expands as needed. Special cuts provide support, and the soft fabric offers minimal compression. Veloine's stated goal is to make cycling more female-friendly.

“The function of ISPO Brandnew has never been as important as it is in these times,”

says Franziska Zindl, Head of ISPO Award & Innovations at Messe München.

"Under the current circumstances, it is particularly challenging for startups to establish themselves in the sports industry and penetrate the market. We offer them a renowned platform and stage for their ideas. We also offer guidance to the industry and, for example, provide retailers with concrete new suggestions for a potential product range expansion."
