With the Tech Rocketship Award Europe, the UK Department for International Trade (DIT) is looking for innovative tech companies with international growth ambitions. This is exciting for companies targeting the UK market. Participation in the competition helps them gain new investments, new customers, and a larger network.
Requirements for participation are:
- The scale-up is headquartered in Europe
- The product and/or service has international applicability
- The company has not yet established a presence in the United Kingdom and plans to expand within the next two years
How scale-ups benefit from the Tech Rocketship Award
On an individually curated business trip to Great Britain, scale-ups can Expansion plans with the help of the program and further expand their business relationships. In addition to investors, the award winners also meet with incubators and representatives of technology clusters.
The Tech Rocketship Award categories are:
- Economy and digital security
- Tech for health and wellbeing
- AI and Big Data Revolution
- Future of mobility and travel
- Clean growth (cleantech)
- Food industry/Agritech
- Connected consumers and
- a special prize entitled 'GREAT Tech for Change Award'
As part of the outreach program, DIT will conduct several workshops in November to provide expert advice:
- Pitching to investors
- Global marketing strategy
- Insights into the British tech ecosystem
- Insights from companies that have successfully expanded to the UK
Richard Burn, the European Trade Commissioner, says:

The Tech Rocketship Award also aims to provide scale-ups from other European countries with a second home in Great Britain.
