Startup growth: Summer break in Munich

While startups in other cities continued to grow in August, young companies from the state capital treated themselves to a short summer break. In the monthly ranking of Germany's 100 fastest-growing startups, only 13 Munich-based companies are included, and only one made it into the top 10.

In August, the company landed in 9th place on the Glassdollar rankings. SewtsThe Munich-based startup is developing a "brain" for industrial robots that will enable them to understand the material properties of textiles and thus work with them. This will automate numerous processes in the textile industry. Last month, the top spots in startup growth went to Getbaff from Düsseldorf, the Hamburg-based startup Expresssteuer, and Staiy (Berlin).

Munich companies among the top 100

The other 12 startups from Munich and the surrounding area among the top 100 are spread across the Glassdollar ranking:

  • 3Bears Foods, a porridge manufacturer that has already convinced Judith Williams and Frank Thelen (22nd place)
  • the producer of fair trade chocolate Fairafric (24th place)
  • the fantasy football startup Kickbase (32nd place)
  • Fulfin, which helps e-commerce companies raise working capital (39th place)
  • Isar Aerospace, who have just inaugurated the production hall for their rockets (49th place)
  • the Taufkirchen-based AI startup Cubemos (58th place)
  • flair.hr, specialist in streamlining HR processes (61st place)
  • the startup specializing in innovative smart data analytics and complexity management Soley (68th place)
  • the car sales startup 2trde (84th place)
  • the travel management platform Lanes & Planes (95th place)
  • Voltstorage, which raised 6 million euros for their home storage systems in July (97th place)
  • the specialists for the digitalization of medicine Custom Surgical (99th place)

About the ranking

In addition to company metrics such as the number of employees or funding, Glassdollar also analyzes metrics such as website visits and social media success. These include the number of followers and the development of these numbers. Startup growth is measured monthly.
