The Munich-based startup Inveox, founded in 2017 by Maria and Dominik Sievert, aims to use digital solutions to improve the transport of tissue samples from the doctor to the laboratory, as well as the processing of information related to these digital samples. Sample processing and analysis is prone to irregularities. For example, it can happen that tissue samples are mixed up during manual labeling or marking. In the worst case, this can lead to a misdiagnosis and subsequent incorrect or no treatment for patients.
Digital workflow solutions such as Roche's Vantage Workflow Solution help prevent such errors. However, their use previously required a connection to the respective laboratory information system (LIS). However, since some pathology laboratories do not have this connection, Roche Diagnostics Germany and Inveox have jointly developed an alternative to the LIS connection. For this purpose, Inveox has implemented a sample entry module that allows Roche's workflow solution to be used independently of the LIS used.
