Apply now for the Stifterverband initiative “Impact x 100”

As part of its anniversary initiative, the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany) is seeking 100 future-oriented projects for education, science, and innovation. A total of over two million euros is available for financial and non-material support. The application deadline is September 14, 2020.

In its 100th year, the Stifterverband is seeking the 100 best ideas and projects for tomorrow's education, science, and innovation system with its anniversary initiative "Impact x 100." The goal is to create a platform for solving future challenges.

How is funding provided?

The projects included in the program will receive funding worth €10,000 for an initial, approximately nine-month phase. This consists of direct financial support of €5,000, as well as coaching and comprehensive networking and support services. Those receiving funding have the opportunity to learn from each other in the network, as well as from coaches and partners who are assigned to them. They can exchange ideas on topics such as financing, scaling, communication and marketing, or impact, and participate in training courses. Those receiving funding also receive support in raising funds, putting their ideas into practice, and transferring them to other schools, universities, and other partners.

For the second funding phase, an advisory board will select the 30 most promising teams from the 100 projects from the initial phase. These teams can apply for further funding. Based on their progress, funding needs, and potential impact, the advisory board will ultimately select the ten projects from these, which will receive a total of one million euros in funding. At the end of this funding phase, the three projects with the greatest potential impact will receive the "Impact x 100" award.

Who can participate?

On Competition All projects from the fields of education, science, and innovation are eligible to participate. To do so, they must outline in their application the challenges they address and the contribution they make to the future of the respective field. Projects that are still in an early phase and have a proof of concept are particularly eligible for funding. Furthermore, they should pursue ambitious goals in the areas of impact, transferability, and networking.

The application deadline for the first phase is September 14, 2020. Participants will then learn at the end of October which of the submitted projects are among the 100 selected to receive funding. The selection of the three winners of the "Impact 100 Award" is planned for November 2021.

All information about the competition can be found on the Website of the Stifterverband.
