Loewi has received fresh capital from the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and a family office as part of a growth financing round. The scientific spin-off from the Technical University of Munich is active in the field of personalized nutrition and health and has previously been primarily active in competitive sports.
New investment for LoewiThe Munich startup can, among other things, use the HTGF as an investor. Loewi's patented concept initially collects health-related data from customers and patients through a blood test and an online medical history questionnaire. This data is made available via Loewi's health profile. Using a sophisticated recommendation algorithm, it creates a personalized nutrient combination tailored to the individual needs of each customer and patient.
Out of the niche
Adrian Kapsalis, founder and managing director of Loewi, comments on the successful growth financing as follows:
"This investment is an important step in driving development in the field of personalized nutrition and health and moving the market out of its niche. The combination of science and technology will continue to be the cornerstone of our work. We are therefore all the more pleased to welcome HTGF as an experienced partner who will support our mission in the long term with their experience and network."
The HTGF is also pleased about the successful financing. Marie Asano, Investment Manager at HTGF, says:
"Loewi has developed a personalized nutrition solution with a digital health focus. The personalization approach and the potential to leverage user-specific data for novel therapeutic approaches in the future make the investment in Loewi particularly exciting."
Personalized nutrition and health for everyone
Philipp Merk, Managing Director and responsible for product development at the young company, also says:
"Every person is unique and has different needs. Loewi now considers more than 9,000 interactions and interactions with diseases, medications, and allergies for its recommendations. This means it doesn't matter whether our customer is a 23-year-old triathlete, a 35-year-old pregnant woman, or a 65-year-old diabetic. Our recommendation algorithm generates the optimal nutrient supply for each person based on their individual needs."
He continues:
"The results of an initial pilot study are promising. On average, more than 70 percent of customers and patients were able to significantly improve their nutritional balance within three months with the help of Loewi's concept. We are now focusing on making personalized nutrition and health available to everyone."
