Everything actually looked very promising for the bicycle service provider Livecycle: Since its founding, the startup has experienced steady growth with its mobile bicycle service. However, after an initial investment round from a business angel and the bicycle wholesaler Messingschlager, the startup was unable to find additional investors for interim financing. A resulting liquidity shortage led Livecycle to file for insolvency proceedings under self-administration at the beginning of 2020. Nevertheless, Livecycle still has a future: The Govecs Group, a manufacturer of electric scooters, has taken over the bicycle service provider's business operations as part of an asset deal.
