The British company Phlexglobal is acquiring Cunesoft. For the existing investors Bayern Kapital, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), and Occident, the acquisition represents a successful exit.
The Software provider Cunesoft enables compliance-compliant digitization of documents, data, and processes. The Munich-based company's solutions serve customers in the life sciences industry, from small and medium-sized enterprises to international pharmaceutical companies.
The company name is derived from the word Cuneiform, which means cuneiform in German, the first known method of documentation, such as Rainer Schwarz, Co-founder and CEO of Cunesoft Munich Startup 2017 told:
"We chose 'Cunesoft' as our company name because it combines the first method of documentation, 'cune-', with '-soft' for software, the most modern method of storing information."
“Cunesoft team is very excited about new chapter in our history”
Bayern Kapital and HTGF invested in the Munich-based company as part of a seed round in 2014. Both investors increased their stakes in the Series A financing round in 2016. Occident from Switzerland also joined.
“The entire Cunesoft team is very excited about this new chapter in our history,”
says Rainer Schwarz.
"Phlexglobal has a long history of providing expert services and leading software technology to its clients. This will allow us to build on the work we have already done to advance and automate many of the processes critical to managing data for life-saving medicines and medical devices."
Details of the purchase price are not known.
