The wearable startup Proglove is collaborating with Samsung. The Munich-based company is developing a solution for retail, transportation, production, and logistics with its US partner.
Proglove plans to collaborate with Samsung Electronics America to develop a solution combining an industrial wearable and a mobile device. This solution should enable a seamless and secure flow of information, consistent traceability, and greater user convenience. The goal is for mobile workers to use this joint solution, eliminating the need to return to a stationary terminal to process their transactions. The world's lightest and smallest portable barcode scanner can thus increase efficiency and reduce error rates in retail, transportation, production, and logistics. The Munich-based startup is already using its solutions for several major customers, including BMW, Bosch, and Lufthansa.
A joint dance: Proglove cooperates with Samsung
And how did the Munich startup find its big new partner in the USA? Proglove's Americas boss, Tracy Hansen, talks about the initiation of the cooperation with Samsung:
"We kept bumping into each other at clients' houses. It was almost like going to the same dance events regularly. So at some point, we asked ourselves whether we should dance together. Especially since we complement each other perfectly."
Almost two years ago, Proglove began to develop its American business The wearable startup now employs more than 200 people from over 40 countries at its two locations in Munich and Chicago.
