Attention food startups: Young companies from the food sector can be nominated and apply for the “Global Food Summit Audience Award” until January 20, 2020.
Are you an innovative startup with disruptive approaches for the food sector? Then let companies, agencies or other professionals from the Food sector for the Global Food Summit Audience Award. Eight nominated startups will be invited to present their business ideas to international experts from academia, associations, companies, politics, and the media at the Global Food Summit 2020 in Munich's Residenz Palace on March 25.
Global Food Summit seeks startups with sustainable and disruptive approaches
Revolutionary approaches from the following sectors are exciting:
- Smart Urban Farming
- Circular Food Solutions
- Food Waste as a Resource
- Biotech and Life Sciences
- Measurement of SDGs
Startups should have a compelling team with a disruptive and sustainable idea that addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. The startup should also be willing to pitch. The startup should also have successfully secured early-stage financing (Seed/Series A). Furthermore, there must be demonstrable growing demand for the product or service.
The process — get nominated now
After a successful Recommendation here or under startup@globalfoodsummit.com The startup will be contacted by the organizer and asked to submit application documents regarding the idea and products by January 20, 2020. From the applications, the jurors will nominate the eight finalists for the Audience Award.
Last time, the two Munich startups Delicious Data and Agrilution for the pitch nominatedThe former aims to reduce food waste in canteens and restaurants with their data-driven approach. The latter has developed a Plantcube for vertical farming in the home.
The Summit is hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, Wageningen University in the Netherlands, the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech), the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Bavarian State Government, represented by the Competence Center for Nutrition (CORE).
