Competition 'Too good for the bin 2020' aims to promote sustainability
With this competition, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture wants to declare war on food waste and sustainable concepts promote. Federal Minister Julia Klöckner says:
"(…) Sustainability and appreciation play a role, especially when it comes to food waste. This starts at home, because too much food ends up in the trash every day. We can all contribute to reducing this amount in our everyday lives. This is effective resource conservation and climate protection.
She further adds:
"With our National Strategy, we are resolutely addressing this issue along the entire value chain. Our goal is to halve per capita food waste at the retail and consumer levels by 2030. Innovative and clever ideas from dedicated food savers, whom we are once again supporting and honoring with our Federal Award this year, will help us achieve this."
