Techfounders, the accelerator program of the UnternehmerTUM, is entering a new round with 10 new startups. The participating startups – including two Munich companies – will receive individual training, coaching and mentoring over the next 20 weeks.
For the tenth time, Techfounders is launching a batch of promising tech startups. These startups will be prepared for their next round of financing in the 20-week accelerator program. In addition, each of the ten startups will conduct a pilot project with one of Techfounders' corporate partners. These partners include ADAC, Aldi Nord & Aldi Süd, Datev eG, Festo, Knorr-Bremse, and Miele.
Mergerspot and Wisefood also participate
The selected startups include two Munich-based companies. Mergerspot, a startup developing a new generation of market research software for small and medium-sized enterprises, is among them. Founders Alexander Schmitt, Ingo Mayer, and Julian Wolz have previously participated in the UnternehmerTUM incubator XPRENEURS.
And the Munich startup Wisefood is joining the new batch. The young company has developed a straw made of biodegradable material. Wisefood's product not only offers an alternative to plastic but also a variety of branding opportunities, especially for hotels and restaurants. In 2018, the startup received Europe's largest food award, the EIT. Wisefood's Superstraw is already being used in various hotels and restaurants, such as the ibis in Berlin and LeBurger in Vienna.
180 million financing capital and 1000 jobs
Participation in the Techfounders program is worthwhile: 91 percent of the program's alumni companies are still active. In recent years, Techfounders alumni startups have raised a total of over €180 million in funding and created over 1,000 jobs, thereby contributing significantly to the growth of the German startup ecosystem. Success stories include: Konux, ProGlove and Inveox.
