Next Economy Award 2019 seeks sustainable ideas

The German Sustainability Award Foundation, in cooperation with the German Council for Sustainable Development and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), is presenting the Next Economy Award for the fifth time. Applications are accepted until May 24.

The Next Economy Award 2019 will be presented on November 22, 2019, in various sustainability-related areas. The award aims to boost "green founders" and support startups that want to help shape the transition to a more sustainable economy. In addition to a statuette, there are communication and non-cash benefits worth a total of approximately €25,000 to be won.

Applications for the Next Economy Award until 24 May

Young companies and organizations can apply for the award until May 24th via an online questionnaire. This questionnaire asks for basic company information as well as information on financing and sales.

Companies and organizations founded in Germany that are no older than five years and that want to provide answers to current social and ecological questions with their ideas can take part in the competition.

Following the application phase, the questionnaires will be evaluated in a multi-stage process until September. The nominees will be informed and announced in the fall. They will create a short film using a mobile phone, tablet PC, or any type of camera, showcasing the founder, their idea, and their sustainability impact. The Next Economy Awards final will take place on November 22, 2019. The competition nominees will present their business model in a live pitch to the jury and in an elevator pitch to the audience.
