No presents yet? These startups will save your Christmas!

Christmas is only a few weeks away, and the annual anxiety is slowly setting in: What should I give someone? We have some gift ideas from the Munich startup scene.

Whether delicious food, tech gadgets, or practical everyday helpers: Munich-based startups offer gift ideas in every price range. To make the selection a little easier, we've compiled a few suggestions.

Cake gossip

Homey Christmas cheer delivered to your door: The Munich-based baking startup Kuchentratsch sells cakes baked by grandmas online. Within Munich, the Kuchentratsch grandpas even deliver the cakes personally. Anyone who wants to see the bakery on Landsberger Straße in action can also pick up the cakes there. Otherwise, the delivery service will bring the baked goods to your home.

YFood

Things are less cozy at YFood: The startup produces healthy liquid food that can replace conventional meals. These delicious drinks are ideal for stressed-out founders and anyone else who, in the daily rush, otherwise eats less healthily than they'd like.

Nello One

With Nello One, you can open your front door with your smartphone—practical when the delivery man arrives and you're not home. The device is relatively easy to install on your intercom system, but at €129, it's not exactly cheap. However, it's sure to delight smart home geeks and gadget lovers.

Clean ball

At just under €9, the cleaning ball is significantly cheaper. The small plastic ball consists of a honeycomb mesh on the outside and a silicone ball inside. If you throw it into a purse or bag, the ball rolls back and forth on its own as you walk, collecting crumbs, tobacco crumbs, lint, and other debris. It can then be cleaned under the faucet.

Etiquette

In its own warehouse at the Munich wholesale market, the startup collects fruit and vegetables that don't meet supermarkets' visual standards: too crooked, too fat, too thin. The imperfect foods are packed in boxes and sold. More than 1.5 million kilograms of fruit and vegetables have already been saved.

Knister Grill

The Knister Grill is certainly more of a summer item, but will also delight barbecue enthusiasts this Christmas. The small, extendable grill can be attached to any standard bicycle handlebar, replacing crappy disposable grills.
