Germany is the most innovative country in the world

A current study The World Economic Forum's survey comes to a surprising — and from a German perspective, encouraging — result: Germany leads the global ranking of innovation capacity.

Innovation capability is one of the sub-indicators in the study, which is actually interested in global competitiveness. Of all 140 countries analyzed by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Germany achieved the third-highest score. The USA and Singapore lead the way. Switzerland and Japan follow Germany in fourth and fifth place in global competitiveness. Regarding the significance of this, WEF founder says: Klaus Schwab:

“Only those countries that recognize the importance of the fourth industrial revolution will be able to offer new opportunities to their citizens.”

Innovation capability great, fiber optic coverage bad

Germany also achieved excellent results in several other of the 12 subcategories compared internationally. In addition to innovation capacity, Germany also ranks first in macroeconomic stability. In business dynamism, it ranks second behind the USA. Skills of skilled workers ranked fourth, and market size was sufficient for fifth place.

According to the study, there are problems with the adoption of modern information technologies. The much-discussed stalled fiber optic expansion in Germany is singled out as a particular drawback, ranking Germany 66th. Germany also ranks a distant 53rd in access to mobile broadband connections.
