Internations announces record membership

More than three million members use the Munich-based expat network Internations. The community grew by 20 percent last year.

Internations claims to be the world’s largest network for expatriates. Last year, the business platform Xing acquired the Munich-based company. As Internations now announces, three million users in 420 cities worldwide are already connected on the platform. Founder and Co-CEO Malte Zeeck sees the end of the flagpole not yet reached:

"There are at least 50 to 60 million expats worldwide. This milestone brings us one step closer to our goal: Our vision is to connect all expats worldwide. We want to become the primary destination for all expats and global minds, where they can network, exchange ideas, and find trustworthy information and service providers."

The size of the local communities varies from almost 100,000 members in London, Dubai and Singapore to just a few hundred in Changchun (China), Pamplona and Chattanooga (USA).

“We want to cover all aspects of an international relocation process”

As a next step, Internations plans to expand into 30 new cities. The Munich-based company is also working on an enterprise solution for companies that send employees abroad. Co-founder and CEO Philip of Plato says:

"We already offer numerous opportunities to build a personal network or find practical information about living abroad. But in the future, we want to cover all aspects of an international relocation process."

As part of its expansion, Internations recently opened a location in Porto with 50 employees and is currently looking for developers and designers there.
