See you next year in June The teams have time to develop their business plans and review them against the evaluation criteria of feasibility, degree of innovation and completeness.

Three-stage selection process

The competition, which the young initiative is running for the third time in a row, follows a three-stage selection process. A jury of top-notch entrepreneurs pre-selects the five best business plans in each category. These must then face online voting in Stage 2. The two business plans in each category with the most votes advance to the grand finale in Berlin, and the jury sends one team per category with a wildcard.

In the final, students must win over the jury with their business idea in a pitch. The category winner receives prize money, which they can use to develop their business idea. More than 2,000 students participated in the 2017 challenge. In the end, a planning tool for parties and events, a prevention system for sudden infant death syndrome, and a disposable glove made of spray-on dandelion rubber were among the projects that emerged victorious over the competition.
