VW offers startups space, time and money in the Startup Collaboration Space

Until 15 September, startups can apply to Volkswagen Data:Lab for the Startup Collaboration Space in Munich apply. Of course, it is important that the innovative ideas are relevant to the automotive industry.

The Startup Collaboration Space at the VW Data:Lab in Munich supports innovative startups of all ages in fields such as artificial intelligence (machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing), advanced analytics, or any other technology — as long as there is a connection to the automotive industry.

Startup Collaboration Space offers rooms, financing and coaching

How do startups benefit from participating? Firstly, the accelerator offers a wealth of networking opportunities within the company. Secondly, the young companies receive three months of free office space in Munich in the Startup Collaboration Space, including tailored mentoring and valuable feedback from the data scientists in the Data:Lab. They also receive €30,000 (excluding equity).

Barbara Sichler, Head of Business Development and Product Management in Volkswagen Data:Lab, about the selection process:

"The selection is two-ways: startups are selecting us; we're not just selecting them. The reason is startups want to intensively collaborate with us and share knowledge, that is why we call our program Startup Collaboration Space."

The advantage for the startup is that they can validate their ideas with customers. There is also intensive exchange with contacts within the company, allowing them to test topics such as market viability and much more.
