Union Investment and the German Tech Entrepreneurship Center are currently searching for the most innovative companies in the real estate sector. From over 200 submissions, nine startups have now been nominated for the PropTech Innovation Award, including Munich-based Building Radar and Casavi.
Union Investment and the German Tech Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC) are jointly organizing the world's first PropTech Innovation Award. The goal is to recognize innovative ideas with the potential to transform the real estate industry globally. Startups worldwide were invited to apply. The criteria were deliberately broad, as major changes often come from companies outside the industry.
35,000 euros and access to mentors and investors
Over 200 startups from 46 countries applied. Union Investment and GTEC have selected nine companies for the final round. The finalists will present their ideas to an audience and jury next week in Berlin. The three winners will receive a total of €35,000 in prize money and a place in the new GTEC Lab in Frankfurt am Main. This includes free office space and access to the GTEC network of mentors and investors.
In keeping with the challenging topic, the PropTech Innovation Award jury is comprised of experts from various fields. Representatives from science and research, the startup scene, and the real estate industry jointly select the most innovative startup. In addition to the panelists mentioned above, the jury includes Ron Hillmann, Managing Director of BVP Berlin Venture Partners; Jan Thomas, publisher of the startup magazine Berlin Valley; and Benjamin Rohé, Managing Director of GTEC.
