Digitalization is on everyone's lips. But what does it look like? What can it do? Who benefits from it? Much of the discussion often remains mere theory. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria wants to change this and is therefore seeking “Let’s do it digitally” small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups and service providers who don’t just talk about digitalization, but live digitalization.
Together with a partner network consisting of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Telekom Deutschland, Facebook, LinkedIn, MediaMarktSaturn, and Giesecke & Devrient, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria recently launched the "Pack ma's digital" initiative. The aim of the initiative is to support the Bavarian economy in its digitalization efforts.
Best practice and innovative ideas sought
This also includes a competition seeking entrepreneurs from Upper Bavaria with best-practice examples. Startups can also apply with innovative ideas and solutions that can be used in a wide variety of industries on the path to digitalization.
Applications should address at least one of the following key areas:
Internet of Things: In the Internet of Things, products are connected to sensors and computing units via the internet and are in constant communication with each other. How can companies leverage the intelligent networking of things?
Big Data: Large amounts of data are generated in daily interactions and contact with customers. How does big data help, for example, to generate new business or advance existing ones?
Batch size 1: Digitalization makes it possible to manufacture a product precisely according to the customer's requirements, right from the first piece produced. What new opportunities does this create for SMEs?
The prize: Comprehensive communication package
The best contributions impress with their transferability, their concrete benefits for the applying SME, the possibility of scaling and a high degree of innovation.
A jury will select and award the best entries at the end of Phase 1. The finalists will receive, among other things, a comprehensive communications package with presentation in print and online publications as part of the “Pack ma's digital” initiative of the Munich Chamber of Industry and Commerce
