The GO-Bio competition gives young scientists the opportunity to develop innovative research topics in the field of life sciences with their own research group. Research teams from the life sciences can submit their Application to the Jülich Project Management Agency and thus position yourself for millions in funding.
The funding is intended to identify the application potential of the development, validate it technologically, and prepare for commercial exploitation with the priority of establishing a biotech company.
Funding in two phases
Funding is available to research groups at universities or non-university research institutions that emerge as award winners from the competition. Funding is provided in two phases. In the first funding phase, the research group will identify the application potential of the development and validate it technologically (proof of concept). In parallel, concrete commercialization or clinical application strategies for the further implementation of the results will be developed.
Information event at LMU
In order to promote the focus on commercialization options, the project leaders are requested to obtain private sector co-financing for the implementation of the GO-Bio project from the second funding phase at the latest.
An information event on the GO-Bio program will take place at LMU Munich on March 21.
