Discover new things at the Food Startup Table

For many food startups, despite great products, it can be difficult to position their goods in the retail market. One way to do it, however, is to Food Startup Table in the Käfer delicatessen in Schwabing.

The Munich-based delicatessen expert Käfer wants to help young food startups successfully enter the market – and, of course, also expand its own product range with interesting products.

The deal: Good sales figures in exchange for a trial listing

Käfer is providing young companies with a sales area in its Schwabing branch. The selected startups each have four weeks to convince customers to purchase their products. The deal is this: Any startup that manages to sell a predetermined quantity within four weeks will receive a trial listing with the Munich delicatessen retailer for six months. If this is also successful, these food startups can look forward to a permanent listing and inclusion in the product ranges of other Käfer branches – including the Käfer headquarters.

Already presented themselves Good Egg Whites, the organic beef bone broth from Bone Brox and currently the fruit and vegetable mix from BooooUltimately, customers decide with their purchase whether the product will be available in the Käfer range for a longer period of time.

Clever move by Käfer

A clever move by the delicatessen retailer from Bogenhausen: It gives customers the good feeling of being able to have a say in the product range, can present innovative products and thus jump on the “startup bandwagon” and also test a product for its saleability in a media-effective way.
