Nestlé Germany, together with the Munich-based Foodtech startup Planet A Foods is launching a new product line. Starting in April 2026, the food company will expand its Choco Crossies brand with the "Snack Vibes" range. Nestlé will use the startup's cocoa-free chocolate alternative, Choviva, for the coating of the snacks.
Choviva Based on sunflower seeds, it replaces cocoa in chocolate applications. The ingredient is used in all products of the new range. Planet A Foods is thus further expanding its presence in the international food market.
New snack line for Gen Z
According to the company, the "Snack Vibes" product line is specifically aimed at younger consumers. Nestlé is launching the snacks in handy snack bags. Three flavors are available at launch: Classic, Hazelnut, and Salted Popcorn Caramel. All three products are fully coated in Choviva.
“Generation Z is confronted daily with a flood of information across many channels and seeks out short breaks. The new varieties were developed precisely for these moments: a snack that appeals to the senses and provides a brief personal chill-out vibe.”

Planet A Foods scales Choviva
For the Munich-based food tech startup, the collaboration represents a further step in scaling its technology. The startup positions Choviva as an ingredient for brand manufacturers looking to expand their product portfolio.

Choviva is now used in more than 120 products and is available in ten countries. In addition to retailers' own brands, brand manufacturers such as Treets, Jokolade, and Griesson – de Beukelaer also use the ingredient.
Planet A Foods is also working with the chocolate manufacturer to ensure international availability. Barry Callebaut together. The partnership aims to offer food manufacturers an additional option for dealing with the volatility of global cocoa markets and increasing demands for more sustainable supply chains.
