Smart Reporting, the Munich-based startup specializing in AI-supported medical diagnostics, has acquired the US company Fluency for Imaging. The merger will result in the company being renamed Jacobian An international healthtech company with headquarters in Munich and Pittsburgh, Jacobian is positioning itself as a pioneer in the integration of AI into radiology – with the goal of relieving the burden on specialists and improving the quality of diagnostic reports globally.
Founded by radiologists in 2014, Smart Reporting develops software solutions that combine medical knowledge with AI. The technology enables standardized, automated reports based on clinical guidelines and simultaneously provides data for research and quality assurance. Fluency for Imaging is one of the leading providers in the field of speech recognition and radiological workflow management. The platform has received multiple "Best in KLAS" awards and processes over 80 million reports annually. Together, the two companies now form one of the largest provider groups worldwide – market leader in Australia and number two in the US and Canada.
Integrated AI solutions for radiology
Jacobian combines the speech recognition of Fluency for Imaging with the structured, AI-supported reporting of Smart Reporting into a single, integrated platform. It optimizes workflows, improves the quality of reports, and relieves radiologists in their daily clinical workload. The goal is to connect fragmented systems and responsibly implement artificial intelligence in practice. With new investments and an internationally experienced team, the company aims to advance data-driven diagnostics worldwide.

Global presence and official launch at RSNA
Jacobian is expanding its global reach and serving customers in North America, Europe, and Australia. The official launch will take place at RSNA 2025, the world's largest radiology conference, taking place in Chicago from November 30 to December 4. The new company will make its first joint appearance there and showcase new products and partnerships.
The acquisition is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
