Strascheg Award 2025: Application period open

The Strascheg Award 2025 is once again seeking the best business ideas from Munich. A total of 30,000 euros in prize money is available in three categories – for the first time, external startups with a validated business model are also eligible.

The application phase for the Strascheg Award 2025 is open. The idea competition, initiated by the Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), annually awards the best innovative business ideas with a total of €30,000 in prize money. A key innovation this year is the opening to external startups from the Munich region.

Business ideas can be submitted in three categories:

  1. From a course
  2. From science and practice
  3. External business idea with market proof

The first two categories are aimed at students, professors, staff, and alumni of Munich University of Applied Sciences. To participate, at least one member of the team must be a member of the Munich University of Applied Sciences.

The newly introduced third category addresses external, early-stage startups from the Munich area. These teams must not have previously received EXIST, FLÜGGE, or AI+Munich funding. Micro-grants of up to €20,000 are permitted. Further requirements include a functioning MVP (Minimum Viable Product), clearly identifiable market proof with interested test customers, and a scalable business model.

Expert jury awards up to 5,000 euros per team

The submitted ideas will be evaluated by an independent jury of experts specializing in entrepreneurship. Key selection criteria include the presentation of the problem addressed, the solution approach, the degree of innovation, the market potential, and the implementation plan.

The awards ceremony will take place on October 14, 2025. Three prizes will be awarded in each of the three categories:

  • 1st place: 5,000 euros
  • 2nd place: 3,000 euros
  • 3rd place: 2,000 euros

All applicants receive access to personalized advice and in-depth feedback on their business idea. Selected teams can also participate in the six-month SCE Incubation program.

This includes:

  • Intensive coaching
  • Exclusive seminars and workshops
  • A prototype budget
  • Jobs in the incubator
  • Further start-up support from the SCE

Applications possible until mid-September

Applications are possible online until 12 September 2025. Further information and application documents are available on the Website of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship available.
