Filics secures 13.5 million euros in financing

Munich-based robotics startup Filics has received €13.5 million in funding to further develop its autonomous transport robots and expand into European markets. The round was led by Bayern Kapital.

Filics has closed a financing round totaling €13.5 million. The round is led by the Bayern 2 growth fund of the investment company Bayern Kapital. Also participating are F-LOG Ventures, Sandwater, Alven Capital Partners, business angel Andrei Danescu, Filics COO Helmut Schmid, and existing investors Capnamic and 10x Founders.

With the fresh capital, Filics plans to further advance the development of its innovative transport robots and consistently expand the company's internationalization. The first product, the Filics Unit, is already being used by several industrial and logistics companies in Germany.

The Filics Unit consists of two mechanically independent, particularly flat robots. It is based on a double-skid system and can autonomously move under, lift, and move Euro pallets or Euro mesh boxes. The special advantage: The robots only require the space of the pallet itself and can efficiently utilize even the tightest spaces in warehouses. An omnidirectional drive allows them to move in all directions.

Solutions for growing demands

The development is driven by the growing demand for more efficient logistics solutions in the wake of expanding supply chains and online commerce. In particular, the handling of load carriers in warehouses continues to incur high personnel costs and requires specialized equipment – a problem that Filics addresses with its robots.

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger comments on the development:

"Efficient supply chains and smooth logistics processes require effective warehouses. The Filics unit of the Munich-based company of the same name was developed precisely for this purpose: It automates processes and noticeably reduces the workload for warehouse staff. This makes it not only a significant advancement for intralogistics, but also another impressive example of state-of-the-art technology from Bavaria."

Investors are also convinced by the technology: Monika Steger, Managing Director of Bavaria Capital, says:

"Filics' transport robots are unique not only due to their flat and compact design, but also due to their maneuverability in tight spaces, such as those commonly found in many modern warehouses. This makes them a highly attractive solution with significant operational benefits for intralogistics – a target market with continued significant growth potential. These factors make Filics a relevant investment for us, and we are happy to support it with a participation in this growth round following our early-stage investment."

And Gregor Kolls, co-founder and CEO of Filics, explains the financing round:

"We are very pleased with the investors' confidence in our autonomous intralogistics solutions. With the funds from this financing round, we plan to drive both the further development of these solutions and our expansion into new markets. Bayern Kapital's early participation in this financing round was a particularly important vote of confidence and has contributed significantly to stabilizing and strengthening the investor consortium."

Expansion into additional European markets is planned for 2026. The product portfolio is also expected to be expanded to include additional application scenarios in logistics by the end of 2025. This financing represents an important milestone for the young Munich-based company on its path to scaling its technology.
