Festival of the Future 2025: Future meets Tech in Munich

From July 3rd to 6th, leading minds from tech, science, and art will discuss solutions for a better world at the Festival of the Future 2025 in Munich. The startup community can look forward to four inspiring days.

Just days before the start of the Festival of the Future 2025, preparations are in full swing in Munich. From July 3 to 6, the Museum Island will become a meeting place for thought leaders, founders, researchers, investors, and artists to discuss forward-looking solutions to pressing global challenges. The Festival of the Future is organized by the innovation platform 1E9 together with the Deutsches Museum.

This year's theme is "Growing Up." This focuses not only on technological maturity, but also on social responsibility. Over 150 speakers and artists are participating in the program. Highlights include appearances by Florence Gaub, futurologist and bestselling author, and Prof. Björn Ommer, who is working with his research group on a new open-source AI model for the German economy. Also present will be artist Jonathan Meese, AI entrepreneur Nicole Büttner, and quantum pioneer Alexander Glätzle from Planqc are there.

Tech trends and future questions in focus

The Festival of the Future focuses on current tech trends – from humanoid robots and energy-saving quantum computers to deep-tech innovations for cancer treatment and the energy transition. At the same time, fundamental questions are also on the agenda: How can Europe maintain its technological sovereignty? How can AI and creativity be successfully combined? What role does art play in shaping a shared future?

"For us, Growing Up means: no more excuses, just get on with it. At the Festival of the Future 2025, we're creating space for real solutions, new perspectives, and collaborative design. For us, the future is created precisely where people are courageous together,"

so Wolfgang Kerler, Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of 1E9.

Organizers expect around 1,500 participants from the innovation scene to attend the conference days on July 3 and 4. The festival will open its doors to the general public on the weekend. Experience shows that over 10,000 guests attend the event, which delivers a real festival atmosphere with exhibitions, XR experiences, live music, performances, and a street party.
