UnternehmerTUM joins BNW

UnternehmerTUM joins the German Association for Sustainable Business (BNW). Together, they are committed to a sustainable circular economy.

UnternehmerTUM, Europe's largest center for innovation and start-up, has renewed its membership in the BNW announced. Through this partnership, both organizations aim to further advance the circular economy in Germany. A particular focus is on UnternehmerTUM's Circular Republic initiative. Its goal is to establish a circular economy that conserves resources and avoids waste.

Circular Republic brings together startups, companies, and research institutions to develop sustainable solutions. Within the BNW, the initiative is primarily involved in the Circular Economy working group. This aims to promote cross-sectoral exchange with other members. Furthermore, UnternehmerTUM and BNW aim to jointly formulate political demands for a comprehensive circular economy.

Katharina Reuter, Managing Director of the BNW, emphasizes the importance of cooperation:

"Using fewer resources more efficiently and for longer is a key factor in future growth and remaining competitive. We are delighted that UnternehmerTUM, one of Europe's most important startup hubs, is becoming a member of the sustainable economy. Sharing experiences is key to jointly shaping the circular economy."

Matthias Ballweg, Director Circular Republic, adds:

"Circular economy is one of the economic success factors of the 21st century. Together with the BNW, we have a strong voice and can initiate the necessary changes in politics and society."

A first highlight of the collaboration is the participation of Katharina Reuter in the Circular Republic Festival on May 22, 2025, in Munich. There, she will speak to representatives from the startup scene, industry, and research about the importance of the circular economy for the future of the economy.
