Dpd relies on shipping packaging from Hey Circle

To make its parcel delivery more sustainable, Germany's second-largest shipping provider, DPD, is collaborating with Hey Circle. The Munich-based reusable startup offers an environmentally friendly alternative to disposable shipping packaging with its shipping solution.

Dpd Germany ships over 350 million parcels annually. A portion of these will be replaced by Hey Circle's reusable shipping boxes. As part of a new sales cooperation, Dpd will act as the intermediary between the Startup and its own business customers. This should enable easy integration of the boxes and bags into existing logistics processes.

Customers benefit from the environmentally friendly and stable packaging material, which protects shipments more securely and produces significantly less waste due to its durability. Companies and their customers can Reusable boxes and bags for up to 50 cycles or internal shipping. The long lifespan often reduces costs because companies don't have to constantly purchase new packaging. This applies, for example, to closed-loop packaging and retailers with high return rates.

Karsten Schwarz, Chief Executive Officer at Dpd Germany, commented:

"Our partnership with Hey Circle is another important step on the path to more sustainable parcel shipping. We see our role in offering customers innovative, environmentally friendly solutions that can be easily integrated into their existing shipping processes. With Hey Circle's reusable shipping bags, we are setting an example for more sustainable logistics."

At Hey Circle, we are convinced that reusable shipping is the future of retail. The founder of Hey Circle Doris Diebold says about the new partnership:

"Dpd and Hey Circle share a common goal: a comprehensive reusable concept for e-commerce. Through the partnership, shipping companies learn that they can rely on established logistics processes with innovative packaging. We look forward to working together to win flagship customers for waste-free shipping."

Hey Circle and DPD already tested how well the foldable packaging made of recyclable plastic fits into their logistics processes last year. This included a test with clothing manufacturer Trigema. 200 XL boxes were shuttled between the production facility and stores to reduce waste and save costs.
